old hat

I've been gone all day at school and in the art museum. I had dinner in an Argentine "dive" in the district I hope to live in, San Telmo. Afterwards I walked several blocks into a more sketchy area to view an apartment. The landlord wasn't home and I stood in the street knocking for 10 min. So I wandered back to the subte (subway) and heard someone singing in English as I went down the steps. I stopped to ask what song he was singing, and he grinned and said, "you know the Beatles?" ...there was a connection. I asked if he know Oasis. "Yes! What do you want me to sing?!" His name was Manuel and his accompanying vocalist was named Michael. We sang Supernova and Wonderwall to the people passing in the tunnel. They're both moving next month and I might move in. They live in San Telmo.
